BLAZING THE TRAIL TO UTAH

KNIGHTS OF KNOTE
Junior right-hander Luke Lacy was named one of this week's Urban Knights of the Week after a complete-game performance to upset No. 9 Azusa Pacific. The Valencia, Calif. native logged some overtime by pitching 8.0 innings in a scheduled 7.0 inning game. In the contest, he allowed three runs (earned) while striking out five batters and allowed just one walk. Lacy struck out more Cougars than any other pitcher on the Urban Knights' staff and has now registered two complete-games in a row. With four on the season, he is now tied atop of the PacWest with the most complete games in 2017. Junior outfielder Izac Bauer has emerged as ART U's strongest hitter as of late, leading the team with a .324 batting average along with 17 runs batted in, five doubles, two home runs, and a triple.
 
TRAILBLAZERS DROP FIRST PACWEST SERIES TO FRESNO
After going 13-3 to begin PacWest-play, Dixie State dropped their first conference series when they visited Fresno Pacific March 30-April 1. Losing three games to one, the Trailblazers lost their No. 21 national ranking after being ranked as high as 7th earlier this season. Dixie State has thrived off of strong offense in 2017 with three players currently batting over .400 and eight averaging over .300. The Trailblazers' biggest bat thus far has come from Logan Porter who is batting .424 with 54 RBI, 12 doubles, seven home runs, a .703 slugging percentage, and a .524 on-base percentage.
 
LOOKING BACK: ART U Falls to No. 9 APU in Series Finale
April 1 - Academy of Art headed into Saturday's game trailing two games to one, hoping to snag a win and earn a series split against No. 9 Azusa Pacific. However, the Cougars' offense exploded for 12 runs including a pair of homers to take the contest by a score of 12-2.
