Junior forward
Anissa Wilson has been named PacWest Player of the Week
Sept. 17 after collecting two goals and two assists in Academy of Art's 3-0 week that pushed their win streak to five. Wilson's team leading eight points rank her tied for second in the entire PacWest Conference, while her three goals put her third highest on the leaderboard.
Another Knight to watch is freshman midfielder
Brooklyn Morera who was named
PacWest Freshman of the Week. Morera put up an identical stat line, scoring two goals, one being the first of her career, and assisting two others. After the productive week, the Los Angeles native is third in points with six.
PENGUINS ICE LAST TWO OPPONENTS
Dominican comes into the game off back to back shutouts, the most recent coming over Holy Names 3-0 in their first PacWest match of the year. Currently on a two game win streak, the Penguins are 2-3-1 overall and 1-0 in PacWest play. Dominican's leading scorer is Michelle Li, who has collected six points on three goals. Dominican leads the all-time series against ART U with a record of 7-4-3. In the most recent meeting, the Penguins defeated the Knights 2-0.
HISTORIC STREAK ENDS AT FRESNO PACIFIC
All good things come to an end, including five game win streaks. In the opening game of PacWest conference play, pre-season favorite Fresno Pacific ended the Urban Knights longest winning streak in program history with a 1-0 defeat.
LOOKING AHEAD
After Dominican, Academy of Art will continue their PacWest schedule at home versus Biola Thursday Sept. 27, at 1 p.m, then Saturday Sept. 29 at 2:30 p.m. versus Point Loma.
