ART U TAKES ON CWU IN FIRST TRUE SERIES
Academy of Art was only able to sneak in a single game before inclement weather cut their first series of 2019 short, but the Urban Knights are back in action this Saturday and Sunday to take on Central Washington in back to back doubleheaders.

KNIGHT WATCH
ART U's 14 run Opening Day explosion was led by junior outfielder
Thomas Delgadillo and senior catcher
Zak May, who each homered, tallied three runs batted in apiece, and combined to hit .545 (6-for-11) in the victory. The double-digit figure marks the most runs any ART U team has scored on Opening Day. Senior second baseman
Elijah Smith also collected three RBIs on the day, with a double to clear the bases. Senior outfielder

Fabian Barcena had three hits and two runs scored apiece. The duo drew a combined three walks and start the season with a ridiculous .833 on-base percentage. On the other side of the ball, PacWest preseason Pitcher of the Year
Ben Kaser threw a solid five innings to secure a win in his first outing of 2019.
CENTRAL WASHINGTON OPENS 2019
Central Washington was set to take on Stanislaus State in their 2019 opening series, but the four game set was canceled due to inclement weather. The Wildcats were picked to finish third in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in the 2019 GNAC Preseason Coaches Poll. CWU finished the 2018 season with a 27-26 overall record and are 12-4 all-time against ART U.
OPENING DAY WIN FEATURES 14 RUN OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION
Academy of Art opened their 2019 season with an offensive explosion, scoring 14 runs in a decisive win over Simpson at Tiger Field. The double-digit figure marks the most runs any ART U team has scored on opening day.

LOOKING AHEAD
After their series with CWU, ART U will face Holy Names in a four game series over three days. The series starts on Feb. 15 at 2 p.m., continues with a doubleheader the following day at noon and 3 p.m., and concludes with another single at noon on Feb. 17. All four games will take place at the College of Alameda.
