CALLING ALL EAGLES
Concordia comes into their game with the Urban Knights with a 14-17 overall record and a 9-7 conference record, good for third place in the PacWest. The Eagles' first win came four games into the season against Cal State San Marcos in a 6-3 victory. CUI went on to win the next game for their first series win. After a single game versus Cal State Dominguez Hills that resulted in a loss, the Eagles had a non-conference series against Point Loma that they dropped three of four in. A series with Azusa Pacific next resulted in the same outcome. The Eagles went on a five game winning streak after they swept Hawaii Pacific in their first conference series and took game one against UH Hilo, though the Vulcans bested the Eagles the remainder of the series. CUI split with No. 14 PLNU when they returned home and most recently split with Fresno Pacific. Junior infielder Cooper Moore is CUI's leading hitter, batting .368, eighth highest in the PacWest, with five home runs and 26 runs batted in. The Eagles are 12-4 all time against Academy of Art, but are on a two game losing streak.
STRONG GAME ONE OFFENSE, GAME TWO PITCHING PROVE FUTILEÂ Â Â
The Urban Knights dropped both games of the doubleheader Saturday night versus UH Hilo, despite out-hitting the Vulcans in game one and a strong pitching performance from senior pitcher
Mason Verhees in game two.
