2024 USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-Region
NEW ORLEANS – Approaching this week's NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships, Academy of Art University track & field concluded its 2024 indoor regular season with a total of 32 All-Region honors as announced by the nation's foremost track and field organization on Tuesday.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded All-Region to the top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three, meaning eight members of the Urban Knights men's squad and 10 women were selected.
Leading a men's team rankedÂ
14th in NCAA DIIÂ (first in West Region) was
Robin Black (60mH, 60m, 200m, 4x400m) with five honors while
Shareez Hamm (200m, 400m, 4x400m) had three to his name. Two went to
Ajani Ince (60m, 200m) and
Josh Marlin (400m, 4x400m) while a host of Knights had solo selections including
Daniel Cortes Gonzalez (High Jump),
Elijah Roberts (High Jump),
Yacouba Gnacko (Triple Jump), and
Omodiaogbe Oboh (4x400m).
For a women's team rankedÂ
11th nationally (second in West Region), the trio of
Marie-Jeanne Ourega (60mH, Long Jump, Triple Jump),
Juvonna Cornette (60m, 200m, 4x400m), and
Lauryn James (60m, 200m, 4x400m). Following with two honors was
Lina Hanich (800m, 4x400m) while singular selections came for
Michaela Andrews (800m),
Katharina Goetschl (Mile),
Naomie Lavril (High Jump),
Grace Southern (3000m), and
Toni-Ann Lindsay (4x400m).
The ART U men's and women's teams will be in action at the 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas on Mar. 8-9.
