Jasmin Guinn Named PacWest Player of Week

PacWest Conference Players of the Week (Nov. 16)

IRVINE, Calif. --
Leading the charge in a pair of wins for Academy of Art University women's basketball, senior guard Jasmin Guinn was selected as Pacific West Conference Player of the Week. An GNAC/PacWest Challenge All-Tournament Team selection, Guinn virtually scored at will, shooting well over 60 percent from the field while averaging 28.0 points per game. The award was based on games played Nov.9-15.

It was an unforgettable start to the tournament for Guinn as she poured in 12 points in the first period to set the program's scoring record for a quarter against Simon Fraser on Nov. 13. She went on to score a season-high 29 points (shooting 9-for-17 from field) with nine rebounds and six steals. In the tournament nightcap against host Montana State-Billings, Guinn continued to thrive, delivering 27 points with nine made shots in 11 attempts. She would trump her own school record by scoring 13 points (5-for-5 FG) in the first quarter of that contest.

Guinn averaged 28.0 points, 4.5 steals, and 4.0 rebounds per game in the two wins for ART U. She also shot 64 percent from the field (18-for-28) and .444 (4-for-9) from three-point range. At 19.6 points per game on the year, Guinn ranks second in the conference in scoring and is sixth in steals (2.4 spg).

This is Guinn's third career PacWest Player of the Week award and her first of the season.
