Academy of Art University Athletics

A historic performance was turned in by Academy of Art women's cross country redshirt sophomore Katharina Goetschl at the Pacific West Conference Championship on Oct. 21 in Fresno.

The 85-runner field at Woodward Park was predominantly led by a top 10 that included Goetschl throughout the entire 6k race as the Industrial Design major moved up multiple spots down the stretch to secure eighth place overall. She not only delivered a season best en route to All-PacWest Second Team honors, but her final time of 21:37.3 slotted as seventh-fastest in program history.

Goetschl will next be in action at NCAA Division II West Regionals in Monmouth, Ore. on Nov. 4.
