NCAA COMPLIANCE

Academy of Art University is committed to operating our athletics program in a manner that is consistent with the NCAA, Pacific West Conference and Academy of Art University rules and regulations. 

 
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the ART U Athletics Compliance Office is to uphold the University’s integrity and dedication to prominence in art education by ensuring the intercollegiate athletics program operates in the spirit of NCAA, Pacific West Conference, and University standards. 
 
The Compliance Office is charged with leading, coordinating, and sustaining ART U’s compliance efforts and serves as the resource for internal and external community concerning NCAA and Pacific West compliance concerns.
 
VISION STATEMENT
The Compliance Office will be a model for other NCAA Division II athletics departments by following a four-pronged operational philosophy, SEAM. We believe, we are the SEAMs of the athletic program, holding together the individual pieces and crafting a complete product.

SPORTSMANSHIP
The Academy of Art University Athletics Department promotes and encourages the development of intercollegiate athletics programs based upon sound academic standards, principles of amateurism, good sportsmanship, and as an integral part of the educational programs of member institutions. ART U is committed to adhering to the sportsmanship policies as set forth in Article 11, Section 1, of the PacWest Conference bylaws.

S – Serve: Dedication to serving coaches, staff members, student athletes by providing usable systems, informative interpretations, and timely responses to inquiries
E – Educate: Focus on comprehensive educational programming that provides a variety of opportunities to learn and understand NCAA and Pacific West compliance guidelines.
A – Accountability: Focus on creating an atmosphere of personal accountability and shared responsibility.
M – Monitor and Investigate: Focus on systems and procedures that enable observation and verification of adherence to NCAA regulations and swift actions to resolve potential infractions and violations.

In striving for academic and athletic excellence, ART U seeks the highest standard of ethical conduct. Involvement by representatives of ART U's athletics interests (boosters) is critical to the program's success; however, any inappropriate or even inadvertent activity could jeopardize both the eligibility of current or prospective student-athletes and the compliance of the university with NCAA regulations.

If you have any questions regarding NCAA rules, please contact the ART U Compliance Office or the NCAA before doing something that may jeopardize a student-athlete's eligibility to participate in intercollegiate athletics.
