Continuing to dominate NCAA Division II, defending long jump National Champion Marie-Jeanne Ourega of Academy of Art track & field not only furthered her hold on the top spot in the event at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic on Feb. 2, but she also moved up in DII history with a new indoor personal record.

Ourega saved her best for last of six attempts, launching to an impressive 20-10 (6.35m) to better the marks that made her a National Champion in both the indoor and outdoor versions of the event last year. The new indoor best put her ninth in NCAA DII history and served to significantly separate her from the rest of the country, continuing her hold on the top spot among Indoor Nationals provisional qualifiers. Seventh of 46 jumpers in total, she finished the event final ahead of Stanford's Alaysia Oakes (20-4.5/6.21m) and professional athlete Jasmine Todd (20-0.5/6.11m).
