This past week at the Pacific West Conference Championship Tournament, senior Viktoria Leth of No. 48 Academy of Art women's tennis won a match on seven occasions, with her four doubles victories and three singles triumphs containing two clinched matches, all earning herself the Most Outstanding Player award of the tournament for her efforts. 

Competing on the doubles court with junior Paulina Alvarez on Court 3 in all four matches, the pair began the tournament in the opening round against Colorado Mesa, where they would come out on top with a 7-6 (11-9) score to clinch the first doubles point of the week. In singles against CMU, Leth won out on Court 5 with a 6-3, 6-0 score.

In the Quarterfinal versus No. 36 Hawaii Pacific, the Interaction & UI/UX Design major and Alvarez finished first out of the three doubles matches, where they conducted a clean sweep 6-0.

Next in the semifinal matched up against No. 30 Point Loma, the duo finished first once again with a 7-6 (7-2) score before Leth did her part by gaining another point for ART U with her 6-2, 0-6, 6-1 victory to push the Urban Knights into the Championship match. 

With everything on the line matched up with No. 19 Azusa Pacific, Leth and Alvarez conducted a smooth 6-2 win together to build momentum for the Knights to gain the doubles point. With all eyes on Leth’s Court 5 as ART U was up 3-0 on APU, the senior would win once again, this time with a 6-3, 6-2 score to clinch the PacWest title for the squad earning them the automatic bid to the NCAA Division II postseason.
