Contributing 22.5 total points to Academy of Art track & field's team score at the Pacific West Conference Championships, Lauryn James claimed individual gold in the 200m dash and 4x400m relay as well as silver in the 100m dash and 4x100m relay en route to being named PacWest Most Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet.

James began on Apr. 26 with a new facility record 11.44 in the 100m prelims and led the 20-runner field in the 200m prelim at 23.17 to not only break another facility record, but also rise to second in Academy of Art history as well as fourth in the country this season. The Animation & Visual Effects major then won the 200m final on Apr. 27, delivering a season-best 23.31 for the fifth spot among Outdoor Nationals provisional qualifiers in addition to contributing legs on the champion 4x400m relay (3:40.65) and second-place 4x100m relay (44.96). James and the Urban Knights moved up to fifth in the country in the 4x100m and eighth in the 4x400m (second in program history in the latter).
