Academy of Art track & field's Lina Hanich took a big step forward in the 800m this past weekend during the Spokane Indoor Challenge.

The 21-runner field was no match for Hanich on Jan. 18 as she claimed first overall by nearly five full seconds at 2:09.10. The Advertising major delivered more than a full second improvement on her season-best and was once again an Indoor Nationals provisional effort.

On the season, Hanich ranks second in NCAA Division II in the 800m.
