Academy of Art women's tennis sophomore Amelija Supulniece displayed impressive performances this past week, earning herself ART U Athlete of the Week honors. Playing two matches in two days, the Urban Knights’ top player on both courts battled with Concordia on Mar. 7 and No. 28 Point Loma on Mar. 8.

In singles, No. 15 Supulniece glided on Court 1 on both days, taking down No. 18 Sophie Rachor of CUI 6-2, 6-3, while defeating No. 70 Alina Kupfer thereafter 6-3, 6-2. After the contests, the Riga, Latvia native brought her NCAA Division II record this season to 5-1. 

In doubles, Supulniece paired up with her season-long partner in junior Jessica Plazas, and the undefeated duo once again came out with a victory together, defeating Sophie Rachor and Bryn Johnson in a swift 6-0 win.
