Junior forward Keith Davis showed the Pacific West Conference he could score this past week. In the Urban Knights' first two PacWest contests of 2011, Davis averaged 18.0 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, and did not miss a free throw in nine attempts (9-of-9 FT).
Davis began by scoring 10 points in the first half against Hawaii-Hilo on Jan. 6. Knocking down a jumper after his own offensive rebound, the junior forward initiated ART U's 8-0 run late in the opening period to stay close at halftime. Davis completed the game with 16 points (4-of-4 FT) and six rebounds.
Two nights later at Chaminade, the Long Beach, CA native was making shots early and often as he scored six of the Knights' first eight points. After putting in 12 points in the first half, Davis drained one of Academy of Art University's two 3-pointers in the final 20 seconds to attempt a furious comeback. At the night's end, Davis had 20 points (5-of-5 FT) and four rebounds.
