Academy of Art University Athletics

In front of the largest home crowd of the season on Senior Day at Laney College, right-handed pitcher Alex Rosenthal provided a strong start for Academy of Art University in its 11-6 victory over Grand Canyon. The San Diego, CA native went 5.2 innings on the mound with just three earned runs allowed on seven hits while striking out two. Fellow senior Darnell Quinney picked up the win in the game, but it would not have been possible without Rosenthal's efforts.

Rosenthal blanked the Grand Canyon offense, one of the best in NCAA Division II, for four of his five plus innings. Highlighting his fourth start of the season was a stretch of limiting GCU to only one hit out of 11 batters who came to the plate. Rosenthal also threw over half of his 106 pitches for strikes.
