In Academy of Art University's senior sendoff this past Sunday, junior forward Grimur Grimsson showed why the future is bright for ART U men's soccer. The Seltjarnarnes, Iceland native became just the third Urban Knight in program history to score three goals in a single match, helping lead Academy of Art to its 3-0 victory over Hawaii-Hilo.

Grimsson's complete hat trick came during a 13-minute span in the second half. He began with a goal in the 52nd minute after sophomore forward Leonardo Bartelle sent a ball into the box, senior midfielder Boomer Cruz quickly dummied it, enabling Grimsson to score from 18 yards out. Then, in the 53rd minute, Grimsson came back with another goal scored via a chip shot from 35 yards. The situation was set up with a long goalkick by junior goalkeeper Ian Sutherland and then a header from Cruz.

One final goal by Grimsson was netted in the 65th minute after Bartelle played a ball into the box and the junior forward slotted it to the near post on one touch. The three goals in the season finale gave Grimsson seven total for 2011, which is the second-most in program history for a single season.
