Redshirt freshman Alex Carmon continued his strong play in his first year as an Urban Knight, leading the Academy of Art University men's basketball team in scoring in their loss to Notre Dame de Namur last week. The guard from Long Beach, CA dropped a career-high 20 points on the Argos, the second time he has led the team in points scored. He also went 8-for-8 from the free throw line to improve to just under 80% on the young season.
Carmon is third on the team in scoring, averaging 12.0 points per contest, and is also averaging 4.7 rebounds per game. His 79.2% free-throw percentage is good for ninth in the PacWest, and he had a double-double on Nov. 23 against Cal State Dominguez Hills, with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
