Senior Amal Ben El Hadj stayed undefeated on the year in singles play as the Urban Knights played two matches last week, losing a close one to Fresno Pacific on Thursday and dominating Cal State Stanislaus last Saturday. Ben El Hadj also teamed up with Jenny Johansson to win both of her doubles matches for the week. The win in the third doubles slot against FPU was the sole point in doubles play for the Knights, giving them a chance against the Sunbirds who would go on to win.

But in singles play, Ben El Hadj has taken every opponent in stride. After Saturday's win over Cal State Stanislaus, the senior now has won eight in a row to start the season, all in straight sets. Those 16 sets include six 6-0 wins and four more 6-1 victories. Ben El Hadj now ranks second all-time in singles wins, and has the highest career singles winning percentage with a .780 clip.
