Sophomore Emily Papale played solid volleyball for the Urban Knights during their 2-2 week at the PacWest/GNAC Crossover. Averaging 12.0 kills per set to go with 13.0 digs per set, Papale helped Academy of Art achieve its best start since 2009.

Papale began the week with 16 kills, 14 digs, and three total blocks against Seattle Pacific on Sept. 11, leading the team in that contest. She then hit well for nine kills and added 14 digs on day two of the tournament versus Western Oregon as ART U swept the Wolves. In the finale, the sophomore delivered 10 kills and 16 digs in a 3-1 win over Montana State Billings then closed it all out with 13 kills and eight digs against Simon Fraser.
