Freshman Sterling Hawkins shot the best round of her budding career Tuesday at the Midwestern State Invitational with a four-over 76, jumping 10 spots in the individual standings and finishing tied for sixth for her first top-10 showing. She improved her score from the opening round by two strokes while 21 of the top-30 finishers all saw their scores increase in the final round. She was rewarded for her performance by being named Pacific West Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of March 16-22.
