In the Urban Knights' first meet of the 2016 cross country season, the USF Invitational on Sept. 3, graduate student Joshua Thorson led the charge.

He would make a 10-place jump down the stretch in the final 6k to secure 20th place overall and first among NCAA Division II runners in the race. A final of time of 25:10.5 put him ahead of a contingent of all six runners from Stanford in the 8k competition through Golden Gate Park.
