Graduate student Gatien Airiau led the way to Academy of Art's first place finish at the Pacific West Conference Preview on Sept. 2. Placing first individually, Airiau topped 53 others at the end of 8k at the Crystal Springs Cross Country Course.

Posting an average mile time of 5:30.7, Airiau completed the course in 27:24.1, bettering the next closest runner by 33 seconds. As a team, ART U would take the first placement thanks to four individuals finishing among the race's top 10.
