Sophomore Swann Phelippeau had a spectacular debut for Academy of Art women's cross country, guiding the Urban Knights to a first place finish at the Pacific West Conference Preview on Sept. 2. Taking first overall out of 68 runners, Phelippeau confidently navigated the 6k distance at the Crystal Springs Cross Country Course.

Posting an average mile time of 6:33.5, Phelippeau completed the course in 24:27.3, bettering the next closest runner by 20 seconds. As a team, ART U would take the first placement thanks to three individuals finishing among the race's top 10.
