Junior Darnell Quinney added his name to the record books this past Saturday, Apr. 10 with an incredible pitching performance versus Grand Canyon. In his eighth start of the season, the right-hander sat down eight batters to set the new strikeout record for Academy of Art University baseball. Quinney struck out at least one batter in each of his 6.0 innings of work and the eight strikeouts were double his previous high which he had notched three times prior (once this season). Quinney was also a force offensively in the series with GCU. In four games against the 'Lopes, the junior was 4-for-11 with three runs batted in, two walks, one run scored, and one double.
