Academy of Art University Athletics

Junior forward Andrew "Boomer" Cruz played a significant role in the 4-1 week for Academy of Art University men's soccer in Hawaii. In addition to scoring a remarkable five goals in a single match versus Chaminade on Sept. 29, Cruz completed the trip with seven goals scored and one assist.

The five goals against Chaminade was not only an ART U program record, but a Pacific West Conference record as well. He became the only PacWest men's soccer athlete ever to score five goals in one match, surpassing the previous mark of three set in 2007. Cruz currently ranks third in the PacWest with seven goals on the season.

Cruz also notched the game-winning goal against BYU-Hawaii on Sept. 27 along with the first goal of the Oct. 3 rematch with Chaminade.
