Academy of Art University Athletics

This past week, junior Amos Maru was again at the forefront of a cross country meet loaded with elite Division II talent. Maru and the Urban Knights competed in the 2010 Western Washington University Cross Country Classic on Oct. 23 and ran a 10k course rather than the typical 8k. Maru took 4th place individually alongside several top qualifiers from #9 Alaska Anchorage and #11 Western Washington.

The Nandi Hills, Kenya native posted a time of 31:30.7 on the first 10k course Academy of Art University had seen in program history. Maru also helped ART U become one of three countable schools (Alaska Anchorage and Western Washington) placing runners in the top 10. The Knights would capture 4th overall as a team.
