Academy of Art track & field's Robin Black capped his breakout debut season by becoming a three-time All-American and contributing the highest point total for the men's team at Outdoor Nationals.

Black's memorable weekend in Pueblo began with his contributions to two new program records on May 25. He first joined Ajani Ince, Emmanuel Ajiroba, and Duncan Agyemang in breaking the ART U record in the 4x100m relay for the third time this season with a 39.61 for eighth out of the prelims. The PacWest Track Athlete of the Year then took fifth overall in the prelims of the 100m dash with a 10.29 for his new wind-legal best then became the Urban Knights' new record holder in the 400m hurdles after his 50.10 placed him second overall in the prelims.

Contending for national titles on May 27, Black again opened in the 4x100m relay where another new program record was turned in by the same quartet. The Knights delivered a 39.45 to better their previous best by 0.16 seconds and take third place overall. Black's first of two individual All-American performances then came in the 100m final where, alongside an extremely strong field supported by a +5.4 m/s wind, he was one of seven sprinters to run 10.10 or better. His 10.10 mark passed ART U Hall of Famer Mobolade Ajomale's 10.15 record (which remains the fastest wind-legal mark) and led the Music Production & Sound Design for Visual Media major to finish seventh across the finish line. Less than an hour later, Black opened the 400m hurdles final strong with a significant leading margin before ending third at 50.23.

En route to his three All-American trophies, Black finished with 9.5 points scored at Outdoor Nationals.
