AAU vs. Central Washington University 2:00PM

OPENING TIP:
The Urban Knights closed the month of November with a pair of games in the Cal State Stanislaus Thanksgiving Classic. AAU dropped a pair of close losses during the tournament (75-80 vs. CSUS and 64-72 vs. CSUMB), which brought their season record to 0-6. The Knights however opened the month of December with a win against Dominican University.

LOOKING AHEAD:
AAU will compete in three more games before the New Year taking on Central Washington University on the 13^th, Pac-West Conference opponent Notre Dame de Namur University on Dec 17^th, and CCAA Cross-town opponent San Francisco State University on Dec 29^th.

SCOUTING THE LADY WILDCATS:
Much like the Urban Knights, Central Washington University dropped their first six games of the season. They picked up their first win against Western State on Nov 23, 66-62. Players to watch: LeeAna Busch who is averaging 8.0 ppg, Shaina Afoa averaging 7.4 ppg and Amanda Murdoch who is averaging 7.3 ppg.

AGAINST THE PENGUINS:
The Academy of Art University women's basketball team picked up their first win last Saturday against the Dominican Penguins of San Rafael, 68-66. The win marked the first of the season and the program for the Lady Knights. Point guard Sondra Stilwell (Redding, CA) led the Urban Knights with 14 points while Jacqui Heck (Oxnard, CA), Lorraine Etchell (Healdsburg, CA), and Ali Tyson-Taufoou (Cape Girardeau, MO) all finished with 11 points, Tyson-Taufoou also secured 10 rebounds to finish with her first double-double of the season.

POST GAME COMMENTS BY COACH YAMASAKI:
Against Dominican University: "I am extremely proud of my team for their tireless heart and determination," Head Coach Lindsey Yamasaki said. "Tonight we willed ourselves to win. I know now we are capable of overcoming adversity and now I think they believe they can as well. We needed this win for our confidence."

MISSING IN ACTION: 
Senior forward Levalasi Key has missed the last three games due to a knee injury; at the time of her injury she was leading the Urban Knights is scoring, 11.25 ppg, and rebounds 8.2 rpg.  Key is expected to make a full recovery.

 MAKING HISTORY:
The 68-66 victory over Dominican University, Dec. 6 was the first for the women's basketball program in school history.
