OPENING TIP:
This will be the women's basketball teams last game of the season. They travel to Seattle to take on the Redhawks in their second and final meeting of the year. The last meeting saw Seattle U emerge victorious 69-47.
SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS:
Seattle University is 16-7 on the year. They have won their last six games, which includes a win against the Urban Knights on February 2. Seattle University's depth proved in their last meeting to be a tough obstacle for the Urban Knights to overcome. For the Redhawks Breanna Salley is leading all scorers averaging 17.7 points per game while Chelsie Morrison is averaging 13.1 ppg. Mercedes Alexander is averaging 9.1 rebounds per game and finished with 19 in their previous meeting.
THEIR LAST GAME AGAINST THE REDHAWKS:
AAU Played SeattleU back on February 2 and gave the Division I opponent a run for their money. In their last meeting Sondra Stilwell had a team high 19 points. She finished the game shooting 7-17 from the field and 4-8 from 3-point land, had four assists and three steals. Caprice Hall added 11 points and two steals. Levalasi Key chipped in with 9 points and six rebounds and a block. Also contributing on the glass Ali Tyson-Taufoou grabbed a team high 10 boards. Head Coach Lindsey Yamasaki said after the game “I am so proud of our effort tonight. Even though we lost by 18 points this wasn't and 18-point game, this was an 8 to 11 point game. We played with that team for 35 minutes, and I am excited at the growth we have made.”
