TIPPING OFF
The Urban Knights had a tough road trip through Hawaii but return back to California to finish off the road trip in Oakland looking to get on track against the Hawks. ART U got back to their high-scoring ways in their final game of the road trip, scoring 80 points for the first time the third game of the season, when they scored 80+ in three straight contests.
PERRY PACING THE HAWKS
In the 15 games that Holy Names has played in 2013-14, junior Harold Perry, Jr. has led the way on the scoring front in more than half of those games. He poured in a season-high 28 points against Fresno Pacific back on January 8th, and although he was held in check with only two points against Notre Dame de Namur on January 11th, Simon Enciso picked up the slack with 22 points in 38 minutes. Perry is also leading the team in rebounds, pulling in 5.1 per contest. The Knights swept the Hawks last season in a pair of gritty wins.
MAZA MAKING STRIDES
Senior big man
Rodrigo Maza has come on strong lately, and has seen his offensive production increase incrementally in almost every game so far. He is now averaging 8.4 points per game, having scored in double figures in five of his last six games, and is also pulling down rebounds at a rate of 5.1 per game. He has also been excelling from the free-throw line, defying the standard for post players and shooting 84.2 percent, including two games with a perfect 6-for-6 line. Maza is currently the best free-throw shooter in ART U history, shooting at an .817 clip for his career, and is also the career leader in blocks per game at 1.2 per contest.
