TIPPING OFF

The Urban Knights split last week in a pair of similar games last week, holding off a late charge from Holy Names in a big victory but then being staved off after a rally in the final minute against Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday. Saturday's loss was the sixth this year by five points or less, but the Knights still have a chance to match or even top last year's win total if they win three of four to end the season.

TAKING ADVANTAGE AT THE LINE
The top two Academy of Art free-throwers in the program's history are both currently on the team, as Rodrigo Maza (.817) and Alex Carmon (.816) have been jostling back and forth for the top spot since they both joined the team last year. Carmon is the all-time leader in free throws made, as he has now surpassed the 200-mark in two years. His 96 free throws this year trails only his 112 last year in single-season records, while Maza has made 59 of 71 this year for an .831 percentage. This past week he made nine of ten in the win over Holy Names and a pair against NDNU for a 92 percent clip.

PACWEST PROVIDING WINS FOR FPU
Fresno Pacific started off the PacWest season 0-6, but has since gone 5-4 in their last ten games to get in the win column. Those five wins came all in a row, as they defeated Hawaii Pacific, UH Hilo, NDNU, Holy Names, and NDNU again since January 23. They did fall to Point Loma in their last contest, and will host ART U on their Senior Night for their only meeting this year before heading to Hawaii. Malcolm Griffin is averaging 18.0 points per game, which is second in the conference, while Trevon Clayton has averaged 12.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, which ranks him fourth in the conference in rebounding. Jackson Carbajal (14.2 ppg) and Phil Jackson (10.8) are also averaging in double digits.

GUARDS GETTING TO THE GLASS
In addition to dishing out assists and shooting from beyond the arc, guards Alexis Moore and Alex Carmon are also heading up the leaderboards in single-season rebounds, as both guards are neck and neck. Moore's 146 rebounds ranks fifth in single-season performances, while Carmon's 143 is just behind him. Moore is now averaging 6.3 rebounds per game, which is the top mark in program history. The only single season marks in front of the two guards are three single-seasons by big man Hunter Hayden, who holds the second (168), third (167), and fourth place (157) seasons behind swingman Will Overton's 2011-12 season with 169 rebounds.

IN TRANSITION
The Knights will turn around and host Dixie State this weekend before traveling to Dominican on February 24. They'll finish up the season at home against Azusa Pacific University on February 27.
