TORO TALKCal State Dominguez Hills comes into Tuesday's matchup 1-2 having lost to Point Loma 84-78 in overtime, Azusa Pacific 69-58, and convincingly defeating UC San Diego 69-45. The reigning co-CCAA Champion and two-time defending Conference Tournament Champion Toros received eight of 13 first-place votes in this year's preseason coaches' poll and were picked to repeat atop the CCAA standings. Thus far, it is Breanna Garcia who leads the team offensively at 20.8 points per game while Monay Lee (12.7 ppg) and Ali Bettencourt (10.0 ppg) add a strong supporting cast. In two historical meetings, ART U and CSUDH are tied 1-1 with the Knights' 81-76 win last season coming most recently.
OTTER OBSERVATIONSDespite coming off a 7-20 season last year and picked by the coaches to finish 12th in the CCAA this year, Cal State Monterey Bay has won two of its three games thus far in 2015. The Otters fell to Dominican 88-78 in their season opener, but bounced back with a 59-50 win over Western Oregon then defeated Holy Names 63-57 on the road this past weekend. CSUMB will face Fresno Pacific on the road Nov. 24 before heading to Hayward to play ART U. McKenna Hill (13.0 ppg) and Victoria Dorn (11.3) are the Otters' two main offensive threats thus far while Jazmine Johnson puts up 9.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest. Cal State Monterey Bay holds a 3-1 lead against Academy of Art all time.

The Pioneers opened with a pair of tournaments in which they defeated Western Oregon 57-42 and Dominican 68-58 before falling to Colorado Springs 67-62 and Metro State 85-80 in overtime. Similarly to CSUDH, East Bay has relied on Tori Breshers' 19.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game (both team-highs) thus far. ART U has five of six wins in its historical matchup with Cal State East Bay.
ART U COMES FROM BEHIND TO WIN FOURTH STRAIGHTGoing up against an undefeated Central Washington team in its NDNU Tournament finale, Academy of Art University women's basketball fought back against an early deficit to eventually stand victorious 76-68 on
