PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Nov. 12)

IRVINE, Calif. – An impressive collegiate debut week led Academy of Art women's basketball guard Chanel Stuart to be named PacWest Co-Freshman of the Week in the year's first release of weekly awards. The award is based on games between Nov. 1-11.

In the first two official games of her collegiate career, Stuart showed her versatility, amassing stats both offensively and defensively. She began with a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double versus Concordia (Ore.) on Nov. 9, adding three steals and two assists. Then in the Urban Knights' 77-65 victory over Western Oregon on Nov. 10, the Communications & Media Technologies major broke out for six steals (four during ART U's second-half surge) plus 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Stuart finished the week as the PacWest leader in steals per game (4.5), sixth in rebounds per game (8.5), and ninth in assists per game (3.0).

This is the first PacWest weekly award for Stuart in her career.
