PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Jan. 7)

IRVINE, Calif. -- An incredible week of basketball by junior forward Andrija Blatancic garners his first PacWest Player of the Week honors. In a three game span, Blatancic secured two double-doubles, scored 81 points, shot 69 percent from the field, and led the Urban Knights to one of their biggest wins in program history.

Blatancic started the week with a double-double, on a career high 26 points and 11 rebounds in ART U's 73-60 win over Hawaii Pacific on Dec. 31. Academy of Art shocked Chaminade in their next game on Jan. 2 with a 71-69 win. Blatancic led the team in scoring and rebounds, posting his second straight double-double with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks.

The Norwegian finished the week off with a 31 point scoring outburst against UH Hilo on Jan. 4, that goes down as the sixth highest single game scoring performance in program history.

"Dre has been playing really well as of late," said head coach Julius Barnes. "It took him a few games to find his groove, but he's starting to flourish and capitalize on opportunities."
