KNIGHT WATCH
Senior second baseman Elijah Smith is coming off a 2-5 game with a home run, two runs batted in, and a walkoff double in the Urban Knights huge win over No. 17 Point Loma. Smith has been an extra base-hit machine, leading the team with five doubles and 12 runs batted in. It was senior pitcher Gonzo Rios who positioned ART U for the walkoff by throwing four scoreless innings while striking out six to notch his team leading third win of the year and bring his earned run average down to a miniscule 1.86, fourth lowest in the PacWest. On the offensive side, junior outfielder Thomas Delgadillo is second in the PacWest in batting average, hitting .453 with 24 hits. Senior catcher Zak May has the next highest average at .308 and leads ART U with two home runs and 12 runs batted in.

HOLY HAWKS
Holy Names starts the season with an overall record of 5-13 and a conference record of 4-4. After being swept by Academy of Art, HNU bounced back in a big way by splitting a conference series with No. 11 Azusa Pacific, taking game one 6-4 and game three 2-0. Next, HNU split another tough conference series with third place Biola, but lost the last game of the series 3-6. Carlos Cosio leads the Hawks with a .357 batting average with William Ruiz just behind at .345. Fifth place HNU is 12-20 all-time against the Urban Knights and have lost the last 10 meetings between the teams.

SMITH'S DOUBLE WALKS OFF NO. 17 POINT LOMA
Academy of Art shocked No. 17 Point Loma Saturday at Benedetti Diamond, walking off the Sea Lions on a double by senior second baseman Elijah Smith. This is the first time since March 31, 2017 the Urban Knights have captured a win against a ranked opponent. Read More.

LOOKING AHEAD
After their second series with the Hawks, Academy of Art will travel to Hawaii where they begin their island tour with a doubleheader against Hawaii Pacific on March 23 and will continue with UH Hilo on March 28th.
