Verhees holds the lowest earned run average in the conference with a 0.93 and is coming off a seven inning, one run, seven strikeout performance against Holy Names on March 16. Verhees' is a perfect 3-0 in 2019 and has the second lowest batting average against in the PacWest at .143. The lowest belongs to Rios who has held opponents to an insignificant .133. The senior Communications and Media Technologies major is up to 30 strikeouts in only 24.2 innings of work.

Junior shortstop Justin Summers hit his first career home run against Holy Names on Saturday. Summers drove the second pitch he saw over the left center fence for a walk off home run to give the Urban Knights a 2-1 victory. Junior outfielder Thomas Delgadillo continued his tear with six hits in the Knights' past series including a 3-for-4 game. Delgadillo leads the league in batting average with his astounding .469 average.

Hawaii Pacific enters their series against the Urban Knights with a 16-14 overall record and a 3-11 conference record. HPU started their season on a four game win streak with a sweep of D3 opponent, Howard Payne. The Sharks took their first loss of the season in their next game to UH by a score of 3-10 on Feb 8 that kicked off a nine game series between the teams.
