Josh Hill recorded his second straight double-double, it was Point Loma who walked away victorious over the Academy of Art men's basketball team by a final of 81-62 at Golden Gymnasium.
After trading buckets early on en route to a 9-9 tie, Point Loma (11-3, 7-1 PacWest) reeled off a 14-2 run to take control against the Urban Knights (5-11, 3-6 PacWest). Hill scored 11 of his season-best 19 points in the first half, but PLNU had the touch from the field making 51.6 percent of their shots. Behind 13 points from Darnell Robateau, Point Loma had a comfortable lead at the break, 41-27.
In the second half, the Urban Knights started to heat up. Leading the charge, Milivojevic hit three consecutive 3-pointers, passing
Cobe Williams (108; 2015-19)
for first place all-time in ART U career 3-point field goals with 110. Overall in the game, Milivojevic was 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. As the Urban Knights caught fire, so would the Sea Lions. The home team matched their first half shooting percentage at 51.7 percent in the second frame to stay out in front of ART U and claim the victory.
Hill had game-highs in both points with 19 and rebounds with 11, marking his third double-double of the year and his second in as many contests. Junior guards
Kai Tease and
Joshua Bagley each chipped in 10 points apiece, while Hill also contributed a block and two steals.
Robateau would tie Hill in points with 19 to lead the Sea Lions, while Ben Okhotin pitched in 15 and Sterling Somers added 12. Kaden Anderson snatched a team-high seven boards.
ART U will return to the Bay Area to close out this four-game road trip against Dominican at 7:30 p.m. from the Conlan Center on Friday.
