SAN FRANCISCO -- The Academy of Art University Sports Medicine department completes its team with the announcement of
Morgan Gilfillan as the department's newest assistant athletic trainer. Bringing a variety of experience from the San Diego area, Gilfillan joins ART U from the University of San Diego most recently.

Arielle Beauvoir. "She has experience and is well-versed in working at a high level institution. We are very fortunate to have her."
Previously an assistant athletic trainer with the Toreros starting May 2019, Gilfillan was responsible for prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, referral and insurance claim processing for sport and health related injuries, providing rehabilitation programs for women's soccer, baseball, and swimming and diving as well.
"I am very excited for this opportunity to learn and grow professionally with Arielle and her staff," said Gilfillan. "I am thrilled to be a new addition to this department and hope to increase its growth in the future. I can't wait to start working with these extremely skilled student-athletes and to be a part of the ART U team."
In addition to her work with USD, Gilfillan served as an adjunct faculty professor with San Diego City College. Beginning this past August, she was an instructor for Injury Care and Prevention.
Prior to her most recent role with the University of San Diego, Gilfillan was an orthopedic technologist with Synergy Specialist Medical Group from 2018-2019 and, as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at USD from 2017-2018, she worked specifically with football, men's soccer, women's tennis, women's volleyball, men's basketball, and track & field.
Gilfillan earned her master's degree in Kinesiology-Sports Performance from Point Loma after graduating from the San Diego State with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. President of the SDSU Future Athletic Trainers' Society for one year, Gilfillan also earned Dean's Honor List from the SDSU National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
A certified member of both the National Athletic Trainers Association and National Strength & Conditioning Association, Gilfillan is BLS Provider, CPR/First Aid certified as well.
