ACADEMY OF ART REMATCHES HAWKS, VULCANS THIS WEEK

Winners of three of their last five games, Academy of Art women's basketball gets its second look at both Holy Names and UH Hilo in Bay Area matchups.

The Urban Knights' two home games this week will be played at alternate locations with the rematch versus Holy Names taking place inside Merritt College's home gym in Oakland on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 5:30 p.m. Then, on Saturday, Feb. 15, it will be a 1 p.m. tipoff against UH Hilo inside Dominican's Conlan Recreation Center in San Rafael. KNIGHT WATCH
Tayler BennettStill second in the Pacific West Conference and top 40 in NCAA Division II in steals per game (10.75), Academy of Art has logged double-digit steals in more than half of their contests thus far. Offensively, three Urban Knights average double figures led by graduate student guard Tayler Bennett's 14.2 points per game (11th in PacWest) and junior guard Pam Wilmore's 13.7 points per game (13th in PacWest). Coming off a 25-point performance in which she hit three 3-pointers versus Biola, Bennett has remained the PacWest leader in three-point field goals per game (2.8) and is second in three-point field goal percentage (.373). Wilmore ranks second in the conference both at 5.6 assists per game (11th in NCAA DII) and 2.4 steals per game. Bennett is close behind at 2.1 thefts per contest (tied for third in PacWest). Junior guard/forward Lily Perkins is the third ART U player averaging double figures in scoring (10.3 points per game) while senior guard Josselyn Morris comes in at 9.9 points per contest primarily by way of her 2.7 triples per game (second in PacWest) and .310 three-point field goal percentage (third in PacWest). After breaking out for a season-best 20 points against UH Hilo in Hawaii, sophomore guard Chanel Stuart has scored in double figures since then, posting 14 points versus Fresno Pacific and adding a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double against Biola.

REMEMBER THE NAMES
After defeating Academy of Art back on Jan. 7, Holy Names has dropped 10 straight including a 105-45 result to Hawaii Pacific and its last three home games. The Hawks are led by Gernijah Martin's 11.6 points (19th in PacWest) and 6.6 rebounds per game. In the historical matchup, Academy of Art carries an 11-5 edge over HNU.

HELLO HILO
Since falling to ART U 74-64 less than two weeks ago on Jan. 31, UH Hilo has won two of three, defeating Chaminade and Holy Names while losing to Dominican. The Vulcans are set to take on Notre Dame de Namur on Thursday before closing out their Bay Area road trip against ART U on Saturday. For Hilo team that ranks second in the PacWest in free throw percentage (.778), Allie Navarette is the squad's leading scorer at 19.0 points per game (tied for second in PacWest), making .868 of her more than seven free throw attempts per game. She adds 8.7 rebounds per game (fifth in PacWest) as well. Including the win earlier this season, the Knights are 9-7 all-time versus the Vulcans.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL OUTDUELS BIOLA IN PACWEST REMATCH
Facing Biola for the second time in less than a month, Academy of Art women's basketball pushed a three-point lead at halftime, held the Eagles to just seven points in the third, and went on to emerge 68-58 winners on Feb. 8. The Pacific West Conference rematch was highlighted by a game-high 25 points from Bennett and the first double-double of the season for Stuart (15 points, 10 rebounds).

LOOKING AHEAD
Upon completion of its current homestand this week, Academy of Art will make one final regular season trip to Southern California for rematches against Azusa Pacific (Feb. 20) and Concordia (Feb. 22).
