PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Feb. 17)
IRVINE, Calif. – In a week where
he was the leading scorer for the Academy of Art men's basketball team, junior guard
Stefan Milivojevic was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week, his second time earning the honor the season. The award is for games played from Feb. 10-16.
Milivojevic helped
shoot ART U to a 2-0 record last week, averaging 25.5 points on 76.9 percent shooting from the field in the two games. He
set a career-high of 32 points against Holy Names by
knocking down 13-of-15 shots, including 4-for-5 from beyond the arc, and followed that up
with 19 points against UH Hilo on
7-for-10 shooting with 3-for-4 from deep. Milivojevic also averaged 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and one steal over the week.
The 13 buckets against HNU
tie the second-most field goals in school history, last done by
Phillip Samuel against American Sports University on Feb. 7, 2009. It also sets a career record for most field goals made in a single game for Milivojevic, topping his
old record of 11 on 13 shots back on Nov. 27, 2019 against Chico State.
The 51 total points from last week have
now tied Milivojevic for second place in career scoring at ART U, matching William Overton Jr. (2010-12) with 827 for his career, trailing only the 876 of
Ameer Shamsud-din (2011-13). For
scoring in a single season, Milivojevic has jumped from 10th place all the way to third, as his 443 points this year is behind Alexis Moore (465; 2013-14) and
Ameer Shamsud-din (466; 2011-12).
This is the second PacWest weekly award for Milivojevic in his career, with
the first coming for games played between Dec. 9-15, 2019.
