Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Late First Half Run Sinks Urban Knights

SAN FRANCISCO –The Academy of Art men's basketball couldn't make up ground in the race for the Pacific West Conference postseason tournament, as they fell to Biola by a final of 90-62.

Senior guard Nemanja Kovacevic got the game started for the Urban Knights (8-15, 6-10 PacWest) with a 3-pointer, but the Eagles (13-10, 9-8 PacWest) responded with a bucket from deep of their own. That would become the theme of the first half, as the lead would change hands nine times during the frame. The game was tied with four and a half minutes to go at 32-32 when BU would establish control, as they used a 15-2 run to close out the half and go into the break up 49-34.

ART U started with a 6-0 run in the second half, but would not get any closer than nine points, as Biola would knock down 48.3 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the arc to clinch the victory. The loss stops a three-game winning streak for the Urban Knights, as they remain in ninth place in the PacWest.

For the fifth consecutive game and the eighth time this season, junior forward Josh Hill would finish with a double-double, scoring a season-high 20 points to go with 11 rebounds. Hill, along with junior guard Stefan Milivojevic who finished with 16 points, led the way in scoring, while Kovacevic and redshirt junior guard Dante Williams each had four assists.

Five players hit double-figures for Biola, led by Michael Bagatourian who tied the game high with 20. Chris Rossow ended with 18 points and five assists, and three others tied with 14 points, including Alex Wright who also had six boards.

Next time out for the Urban Knights will be Feb. 13 when they take on Holy Names.
