SAN FRANCISCO -- After donning the red, white and black for the Urban Knights, Academy of Art men's basketball alumni Tim Graham will now wear red, white and black with a different logo - that of the professional basketball team Ginásio C.F.

"After COVID-19 hit, and based on the way my season ended, I thought my career was over," Graham said. "I had never been able to complete a season of college basketball to show my true abilities. However, thanks to people I met along the way that believed in my talent, I was able to get an opportunity to continue my basketball career overseas. I am blessed and excited to get to Portugal and begin my [professional] career."

Graham spent just one season with the Urban Knights after transferring from Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y. where he spent his junior campaign. He played in and started just seven games at ART U before his season was untimely cut short, averaging 24.7 minutes in those contests to go along with 9.9 points per game, 7.9 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game. There was no slacking on the defensive end either, as Graham was averaging 1.0 steal per game and had also totaled five blocks. All of this was accomplished while attending the School of Motion Pictures & Television.

Ginásio C.F. currently is a member of Proliga, Portugal's second-tier professional league, boasting three championships in 1968-69, 1987-88, and 1991-92. Very briefly was Ginásio a member of Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol, the country's top-tier league, where they won both the league championship as well as the Portuguese Basketball Cup, the country's top basketball prize, in 1976-77. In just the second year of the Portuguese Basketball Champions Tournament in 2003-04, Ginásio was able to take home the trophy by outlasting Oliveirense, 80-77.

"The ART U men's basketball family is incredibly excited for Tim to take the next step in his basketball career," said head coach Scott Waterman. "Tim was the consummate teammate and without him in the program, we would not have been able to take the steps we took in our first year. We wish Tim the best of luck and look forward to following his career on the court and when that career ends, as a successful screen writer."
