PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Feb. 22)

IRVINE, Calif. – Guiding Academy of Art women's basketball to its first win of the year, the fifth double-double of junior guard Chanel Stuart's career also led her to be named Pacific West Conference Northern California Player of the Week. The award is for games played from Feb. 15-21.

Crashing the offensive glass hard throughout a 67-66 victory for Academy of Art women's basketball over Fresno Pacific on Feb. 20, Stuart amassed six offensive rebounds as part of a 10-point, 12-rebound effort that also included one assist and one block. Perhaps no rebound was more important than her last which came with under a minute left in a one-possession game and gave ART U free throws which continued a thrilling 13-point comeback for the victory.

This is the first PacWest weekly honor for Stuart this season and the fifth in her career after she was a PacWest Freshman of the Week three times and Defender of the Week once in 2018-19.
