ART U SERIES WITH DOMINICAN FEATURES THREE INSTALLMENTS THIS WEEK
In its first 2021 matchup with a team not named Fresno Pacific, Academy of Art women's basketball will host Dominican twice and be hosted once over the course of this Tuesday through Saturday in the final week of Pacific West Conference action.

TIP-OFF
The Urban Knights begin with a 1 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 2 pairing versus the Penguins inside Walter Gleason Gym in Belmont. KNIGHT WATCH
At the conclusion of four games against Fresno Pacific, Academy of Art has shown its defensive prowess and hustle, ranking first in the PacWest in turnover margin (6.75) and second in offensive rebounds per game (13.3). Offensively, there are two Urban Knights who average double figures in scoring, but six of eight student-athletes to play are above 8.0 points per game.

Following her 30-point eruption on Feb. 23, junior guard Lauryn Manns currently leads ART U with 16.0 points per contest (seventh in PacWest) having made 5-of-9 from long range. Freshman guard Alyssa Munn checks in behind Manns at 10.8 points per game, leading the PacWest with a .909 free throw percentage after 10 makes in 11 trips to the line. Redshirt freshman Kaila Murrell (9.8 ppg), junior guard/forward Ladun Akako (9.5 ppg), and junior guard Chanel Stuart (8.8 ppg) are the next three scorers with Akako adding 7.5 rebounds per outing following her 13-point, 11-rebound double-double most recently. Guard Brooke Rodgers is tied for the best rebounding average (7.0) among PacWest freshmen while adding 8.3 points per game.

PENGUIN POINTERS
Following a similar season as Academy of Art, Dominican has only been able to play four games versus Fresno Pacific, losing the quartet. On back-to-back days most recently, the Sunbirds defeated the Penguins by scores of 90-58 and 71-62. Riley Friauf ranks first among all scorers and rebounders in the PacWest at 19.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game while shooting the second-highest field goal percentage (.512). Julia Razo follows at 15.3 points per contest. ART U holds a 17-6 advantage historically against Dominican.
