2021 USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field All-Region
NEW ORLEANS --Â With the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships on the horizon, Academy of Art University track & field concluded its 2021 outdoor regular season with a total of 43 All-Region honors as announced by the nation's foremost track and field organization on Friday.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded All-Region to the top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three, meaning 21 honors went to the Urban Knights men's squad and 22 on the women's side.
For a men's team rankedÂ
fourth in the West Region,
Grant Swinton led the way with four honors (200m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m) followed by three for
Daquan Berry (100m, 200m, 4x100m). Pairs of selections went to
Shareez Hamm (110mH, 400mH),
Ajani Ince (200m, 4x100m),
Omodiaogbe Oboh (400m, 4x400m),
Makarios Page (400m, 4x400m),
Kaze Poitier (4x100m, 4x400m), and
James Young (1500m, 5000m). Both
Abdelouakil Mustapha and
Elliot Slade were recognized in the 800m.
Leading a women's team rankedÂ
second in the West Region were
Marie-Jeanne Ourega's four honors (TJ, LJ, 100mH, 4x100m) while
Darria Matthias (100m, 200m, 4x100m),
Ombretta Picciolie Minkue Meye (400m, 4x100m, 4x400m),
Natalia Novak (800m, 1500m, 4x400m), and
Hava Turner (200m, 4x100m, 4x400m) each had three apiece.
Hasna Kaarour (1500m, 5000m) earned two selections and individual honorees included
Alice Coisne (4x400m),
Camille Jouanno (TJ),
Audrey Rosencrans (3000mS), and
Rian Young-Werner (TJ).
The ART U men's and women's teams will be in action at the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships in Allendale, Mich. next week on May 27-29.
