SAN FRANCISCO – Academy of Art Women's Basketball Head Coach
Krystle Evans and her staff have made another key addition to the program ahead of the 2021-22 season in announcing the signing of Christy Ojide (Igualada, Spain/INS Joan Mercader), a sophomore transfer from NCAA Division I Delaware State.
"Christy provides an immediate impact to our front court," Evans said. "Her ability to pin, seal, catch, and score in traffic is impressive. She's active on the glass and her shot-blocking ability adds another dynamic to our defense. She is everything we were looking for and I am so excited to have her join our family!"
Competing in her first collegiate season with the Hornets of Delaware State this past year, Ojide appeared in seven games and played a season-high 11 minutes with three rebounds versus North Carolina A&T.
Prior to Delaware State, Ojide attended INS Joan Mercader in Igualada, Spain and played for Club Bàsquet Igualada. She was voted as one of the top centers in Spain for the 2020 recruiting class.
Ojide will join the School of Illustration this fall as she pursues a career as an illustrator or graphic designer.
