2022 Mt. SAC Relays Results (Day 1)
The Academy of Art track & field distance crew started off action in both the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays on Thursday down in Southern California highlighted by
Audrey Rosencrans breaking the program's 10,000m record.
AZUSA, Calif. – Cougar Stadium was the site of Azusa Pacific's 52nd installment of the Bryan Clay Invitational and Rosencrans started the day in a big way by running her second program record of the outdoor season.
Competing alongside a collection of nearly 30 others spanning NCAA Division II, DII, NAIA, and junior college, Rosencrans emerged with a time of 37:00.32. The mark became the new ART U record by nearly 12 full seconds as the native of Homer, Alaska completed her first 10,000m as an Urban Knight in the race's upper tier.
It was a lifetime best for
Alexandria Okon in the 800m as she posted a 2:12.86 mark to move into fifth in program history. She finished less than a second from Outdoor Nationals provisional qualification.
Other Academy of Art student-athletes to compete on Thursday included
Hudson Lockette (5000m),
Lina Hanich (800m), and
Abdelouakil Mustapha (800m).
WALNUT, Calif. – The first Urban Knight to compete over three days of the Mt. SAC Relays was
Saba Khvichava in the 3000m steeplechase at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
In his second time competing in the 3000m steeplechase this season, Khvichava turned in a time of 9:52.54.
ART U will continue with competition in both the Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational tomorrow.
