2023 Mike Fanelli Track Classic Results (Day 1)

SAN FRANCISCO – Academy of Art track & field started its second week of outdoor competition with memorable performances at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic including a new program record for Lisa Redlinger out at Cox Stadium on Thursday.

Contesting the 10,000m for the first time in her collegiate career, Redlinger crossed the finish line with not only the top NCAA Division II result of the 35 total competitors, but the fastest time to date by an Urban Knight and a top 10 time in the country. The Interaction & UI/UX Design major put herself eighth in NCAA DII as an Outdoor Nationals provisional qualifier at 35:42.80 2, setting a new ART U record by more than 30 seconds.

Another Outdoor Nationals provisional performance came in the women's 3000m steeplechase where Katharina Goetschl went 10:48.67. She finished third of 29 runners just behind a pair from NCAA Division I Utah State, entering the nation's top six while also debuting at second historically among all Urban Knights.

On the men's side of the 3000m steeplechase, Hudson Lockette ran his best race in an ART U uniform, going 9:33.63 to improve upon his previous best while remaining fourth in program history.

In addition to continuing the Mike Fanelli Track Classic tomorrow, Academy of Art will also be in action at the Stanford Invitational.
