2024 USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field All-Region
NEW ORLEANS – In the lead up to next week's NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships, Academy of Art University track & field finished its 2024 outdoor regular season with a total of 33 All-Region honors as announced by the nation's foremost track and field organization on Friday.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded All-Region to the top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three, meaning seven members of the Urban Knights men's squad and eight women were selected.
Pacing a men's team rankedÂ
15th in NCAA DIIÂ (third in West Region) was
Ajani Ince (100m, 200m, 4x100m, 4x400m) with four honors while the tandem of
Shareez Hamm (400mH, 4x100m, 4x400m)Â and
Josh Marlin (400m, 400mH, 4x400m) each had three apiece. Two went toÂ
Yacouba Gnacko (Long Jump, Triple Jump) while three Knights had solo selections including
Emmanuel Ajiroba (4x100m),
Nathaniel Mark (4x100m), and
Omodiaogbe Oboh (4x400m).
For a women's team rankedÂ
ninth nationally (second in West Region), the leader with five honors was
Lauryn James (100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m) while
Marie-Jeanne Ourega (Long Jump, Triple Jump, 4x100m) and
Juvonna Cornette (100m, 4x100m, 4x400m) combined for six in total. Pairs of selections came from
Lina Hanich (800m, 4x400m),
Katharina Goetschl (3000mS, 5000m), and
Toni-Ann Lindsay (4x100m, 4x400m) along with one from
Naomie Lavril (High Jump).
The ART U men's and women's teams will be in action at the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships in Emporia, Kansas on May 23-25.
