ART U Displays Dominant Showings In 6-1 Result With CUH

LIVERMORE, Calif. – Winning their third straight home contest, Academy of Art women's tennis squared up against Chaminade at The Club at Livermore, and took down the Silverswords with ease, dominating on every court competed on for a 6-1 result.

CUH, who are still looking for their first win this spring 2025 season, did all they could in doubles action and even held a 1-0 advantage, but Courts 1 and 2 were all Urban Knights as sophomores Amelija Supulniece and Estelle Najean held Kylie Ye and Selena Buttery scoreless on the top court in a 6-0 result, while Georgiana Parr and Stefani Georgieva took down Kirra Carvalho and Berylin Lau 6-1.

As the 'Swords secured a point on Court 6, the Knights went on a run through singles, not allowing more than two points in any set throughout the five matches. No. 10 Supulniece finished up first on Court 1 with a 6-0, 6-0 final against Ye, while No. 51 Najean followed soon after ending on top 6-1, 6-0 over Carvalho. Clinching the day, Parr moved past Buttery 6-0, 6-1, while sophomore Maddie Morrow conducted the first collegiate tennis win of her career, taking down Danica Palmer 6-1, 6-0, adding to the team's dominant showing. Georgieva closed the match out with the last win over Lau, finishing it up with a 6-2, 6-2 result.

Now at 4-5 overall, ART U will next head out towards the Hawaiian islands to battle with Hawaii Pacific, commencing on Wednesday, Mar. 26.
